eWhen in 1953 Giovanni "Nani" Pinarello opened his small workshop in Treviso he probably did not expect that "Cicli Pinarello" would become one of the most successful and prestigious cycling brands worldwide. He invested 100.000 Lira (a compensation for handing over his starting place in the 1952 Giro d'Italia) and started manufacturing racing bicycles under the brand "Cicli Pinarello". The first victory arrived with the 1975 Giro d'Italia. Since then, Pinarello bicycles has appealed enthusiasts worldwide.

In 1990, Spanish bank Banesto took over as the main sponsor of the team from Reynolds and they create one of the strongest teams back then with Delgado and Indurain as their team leaders. Over the following years, Indurain rose to become a dominator of Grand Tours, winning five editions of the Tour de France (’91, ’92, ’93, ’94, ’95) and two editions of the Giro d’Italia (’92 and’93)Dario Pegoretti was responsible for Banesto’s racing bikes, working for Pinarello, as their contractor for their very high-end bikes. From 1993, their frames were  TIG welded, made of Dedacciai or Oria steel tubing.

Our Pinarello is a result of the Banesto Line built with super lightweight double-butted Oria Cromovan tubing, our Pinarello has of course been adorned with the iconic Team Banesto scheme. The bicycle also has many special touches featuring on the frame; the fork crown, rear brake bridge, front derailleur braze on pin, drop-outs, and the bottom bracket shell are all marked with the Pinarello signBeing a 90s bicycle with a racing pedigree, this Pinarello is equipped with top-class Campagnolo Chorus parts, Mavic rims and 3ttt stem and bars.
